Our Story

Mary Biketi Foundation was born from a vision to create lasting change in the communities of Kenya.

Founded in 2018, our organization emerged from the recognition that sustainable development requires community-driven initiatives that address the root causes of poverty and inequality. What started as a small group of passionate individuals has grown into a respected Community-Based Organization (CBO) that has touched the lives of thousands.

Our journey began when Mary Biketi, a local community leader, witnessed firsthand the challenges facing women, youth, and children in rural . She saw young people without opportunities, women struggling to support their families, and children unable to access quality education. This sparked a movement that would transform communities through empowerment, education, and sustainable development.

Today, we stand as a beacon of hope, having implemented numerous successful programs that have empowered over 1,500 individuals across various communities. Our approach combines traditional community values with modern development strategies, ensuring that our interventions are both culturally appropriate and effectively sustainable.

Mary Biketi

Founder & Executive Director

Mary Biketi is a passionate community development leader with over 15 years of experience in grassroots organizing and social transformation. Born and raised in County, she has dedicated her life to empowering marginalized communities and creating sustainable pathways out of poverty.

With a background in Community Development and Social Work, Mary has worked with various international NGOs and local organizations before founding the Mary Biketi Foundation in 2018. Her deep understanding of local challenges, combined with her innovative approach to community-driven solutions, has made her a respected leader in the development sector.
